We’re going national- Most of you are familiar with this story, some of you may not be. The following story is likely to be all over the news the next few days and I wanted you all to put a face with the name. My brother Chris Jenkins disappeared Halloween night 2002 in Minneapolis. He was found 4 months later in the river. Chris was a senior at the Carlson School of Management at U of MN, captain of the Lacrosse team, upper Midwest goalie of the year, a leader by all standards of the word. When Chris was found we were told he was just a drunken college kid that jumped off a bridge. We knew differently. FYI: his blood alcohol level was .1 after 4 months of decomposition in which your body acts as a distillary. According to Dr. Michael Baden he likely had little or no alcohol in his system at the time of death. That is an indication of how long he was held before he was killed. Also, for the record, for those of us that went to college, everyone drank. In the midwest I don't care who you are it is never a good idea to go for a swim in Oct-Feb., no matter how much alcohol is consumed. Chris, and many other young men are much smarter than that. How difficult would it be if you're a lunatic to make sure your victims drink alcohol before you kill them?
We knew right away it was murder. Why? He was found floating face up, hands crossed across his chest with one hand clenched, clog type shoes still on (they had a very small lip on the back), shirt tucked in, and less than a tsp. of water in his lungs. Bodies in moving water do not show up like this. It was clear Chris was probably along the shore encased in ice where the rushing water didn't affect his clothing in that amount of time. We felt there was NO WAY his body hung out around Nicollet Island all winter, he would have been seen. Part of his face and hands were exposed to the elements most of the time because the rate of decomposition on them was much more than the trunk of his body, his legs, back etc. My parents and I launched our own investigation that led us to undeniable facts that Chris was murdered. Fighting through a maze of deceit, corruption and cover-up we were able to gather facts. We gathered facts from professionals all over the country. Those facts led to his case being reopened and reclassified as a homicide, and a public apology from the MPD to our family for "getting it wrong". We've known a long time the real story and now, we are finally coming forward with the truth. The following is a link to a MN news station that broke the story last night. The site has a lot of information, but it is not all-encompassing. http://kstp.com/article/stories/S424705.shtml?cat=1 <http://kstp.com/article/stories/S424705.shtml?cat=1> We will be in NY on Monday to have a National Press Conference and speak with 20-20. We may also meet with People Magazine. I’m not sure where this will go from here. I imagine many of you know young men college-aged (although it is not always men). Please forward this story to them. There is a group in the country with "cells" scattered in numerous cities large and small alike. There is a hierarchy in this group, it is very organized, and they are killing our loved ones. They usually choose males as their kill of choice and often these result in missing persons later found in bodies of water. Knowledge is power and we want to prevent this from ever happening to another family.
My parents were done with this June 2006. The only reason they've continued on this path of madness was for the greater good sacrificing themselves financially and emotionally in the process.
For those of you that don't know Chris, if he was posed with the question "Would you sacrifice your life to save many others?" I can guarantee you he would say yes. It's the person he was. That is why this quest has continued. There is no glory at the end. Chris does not come back. Our lives do not go back to business as usual. There is nothing in it for us. BUT if one family is spared this horrific forever-damaged heart, it was worth it. www.myspace.com/chrisjenkins3 <http://www.myspace.com/chrisjenkins3>
